Here are some tips for safely operating your car, truck or SUV
- Check tire pressures, under inflated tires will cause the engine
to work harder, thus expending more fuel. Under inflated tires can
cause the vehicle to react differently in abrupt maneuvers.
- Check spare tire pressures. Don't be caught with a flat
after you had a flat!
- Visual inspection of belts and hoses. Look at the belts for
cracks or tears which may indicate a possible failure. Hoses should
not have bulges or soft spots which indicate a future rupture.
- Do not remove radiator cap! When the engine is warm or hot
do not remove the radiator cap or scalding hot water will be forced out from
the pressure and may cause severe burns. To check coolant level look
at the reservoir from the outside, most are a white plastic so that the
level can be view without opening the lid.
- Be Aware of the fluid you add to your car. Don't listen to
people that say transmission fluid is the same as power steering fluid, if
it was the same it would come in the same bottle. Only put in what the
manufacturer recommends for each of the components.
- Most important thing to remember, if you don't know,
ask. We are here to help you, please don't think its a bother to ask
us a question. You can call us on the phone, email us or come by the
shop and we will help you in any way possible.
